Hallam Station
As part of the Hallam Road Level Crossing Removal Project, Kestrel supplied GFRP fence pickets and EA (equal angle) angle rails to enclose an on-site power generator at the newly opened, elevated Hallam Station. GFRP was specified for its non-conductive properties, removing the electrical hazard risk posed by conventional metal fencing around live power equipment. Being corrosion resistant, the GFRP fencing also avoids the rust and degradation that affects metal fencing over time, reducing ongoing maintenance for the enclosure. GFRP's lightweight structure further aided ease of installation on site.
Hallam Station opened to commuters on 2 May, forming part of the Victorian Government's $15 billion program to remove every level crossing on the Pakenham line.
