Pakenham
Kestrel supplied GFRP pickets for fence lining along the Pakenham Level Crossing Removal Project. The project removed three dangerous level crossings — McGregor Road, Main Street and Racecourse Road — replacing them with a 2-kilometre elevated rail bridge and new stations at Pakenham and Pakenham East. GFRP's corrosion resistance means the fence lining will not rust or degrade over time, reducing the ongoing maintenance burden along the corridor.
The works form part of the Victorian Government's $15 billion program to remove every level crossing on the Pakenham line, addressing a corridor used by around 63,000 vehicles and 90,000 passengers daily.
