Wallaloo East Road

Kestrel supplied carbon fibre laminates, carbon fibre anchors and carbon fibre fabric for structural strengthening works on the Wallaloo East Road bridge. The laminates increase flexural capacity, the fabric provides shear strengthening and confinement, and the anchors secure both systems to the substrate, preventing premature debonding under load.

For this project, Kestrel custom-made a thicker GSM fabric, reducing installation time and ensuring the product met the design requirements — avoiding the extra material and higher installation costs that come with using standard off-the-shelf products.
